My Background

In 2017, I became a mother to my own baby boy.  He was born early at 34 weeks. With continued support from his pediatrician and a lactation consultant, he was able to exclusively breastfeed when he was ready to do so, on his own terms. In the meantime, I pumped to establish my milk supply. With each feeding, I tried to meet his individual needs at that particular time. I was advised to join a local La Leche League for ongoing breastfeeding support and this was the best decision I could have made. This experience inspired me to become a board certified lactation consultant so I too can empower mothers to achieve their breatfeeding/chestfeeding goals.

I completed an extensive pediatric nutrition fellowship with NICU specialization and worked four years as a pediatric and neonatal Registered Dietitian (RD) prior to becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus in the NICU. I’ve been working in a level 4 NICU for the past 11 years. I am a Trauma Informed Professional, NIDCAP Professional, certified Maternal Support Practitioner (infertility, birth and postpartum doula) and certified in Holistic Nurse, Neonatal Touch and Massage, CLC and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2018. I have trained in Healing Touch Level 1 and Healing Touch for Babies. I am currently training to become a Certified Independent Lactation Therapist (CILT) to provide craniosacral therapy.

I live with my husband Craig and son Kavan in the Windy City of Chicago. I enjoy yoga, reading, nature walks, watching Disney movies and Daniel Tiger with my son.
